Review : This is my new favorite power tool
In spite of the rather steep price, I bought this Makita impact driver to use during renovation of my vacation cottage, and hopefully for years afterward. I am very satisfied with my other Makita tools, and so far this impact driver has also impressed me. It is a versatile tool, good for drilling, driving screws, and many other fasteners, there are plenty of 1/4 inch hex bit accessories available.
I have used it only a few times so far, but one of the tasks was assembling a set of ramps that required over 48 nylon locknuts to be driven until completely fastened. This is a time consuming task using a ratchet and socket as the locknuts must be driven the entire length of the bolt after starting them by hand. The Makita driver made this nearly effortless, it is so small and lightweight and so easy to use, it doesn't fatigue your wrists or arms.
