It's a Makita, so it's pretty-much guaranteed to be a well-made, functional power tool. Drilled 24 holes 3/8 x 2" deep in the deck above me on approximately 1 battery (I started with one that was already in use on another tool). Vacuum works nicely as well as the built-in depth stop. Power / drilling speed was on par with my corded 1" hammer drills (Bosch Bulldog). Also did some light-chipping with it, and it worked fine.
