To my delight, the wife had this under the tree. I made it easy for her by bookmarking the specific saw I wanted on Amazon. Comes in a nice case with extras including a vacuum attachment and 3 blades. I was surprised at how hefty the saw was - it really stayed on track. The lower bearing guide system is excellent. I put it work building some speakers out of 3/4 MDF. Like butter. I did one quick test: Clamped an aluminum guide and made a straight cut. Extremely good cut. Inspected for flatness and 90 degree perpendicular and the cut passed with flying colors. You can certainly buy cheaper saws (I have) but you won't find better. I would even say that if you wanted to do wood working in a very small space like an apartment building, you could do a LOT with just this saw. Its that good. Oh, yea, my 55 year old eyes really like the built in work light. Also, Bosch has a really good selection of high quality blades.
