Review : Good for an everyday carry or utility knife. Not so great as a Balisong flipper
This is a beefier version of the Bradley Mayhem with thicker handles, thicker blade and a heavier weight. Unlike the Mayhem, this has no belt clip. This has a spring latch which works like a Mayhem or Benchmade 42. The construction is solid, and the pivots have bushings making for a smooth action.
The knife is sharp and useful as a utility blade. The contour of the handles are good for retention. However, as a utility knife a Benchmade 53 has a better cost to benefit ratio. As a flipper, the uneven weight of the handles make doing Chaplins quite difficult to darn near impossible. However, basic horizontal or vertical openings, latch drops, Y2Ks, Helix and Around the World are possible.
Overall, I'm glad to have it as a part of my collection.
